Financial oikonomization: the financial government and administration of the household

Abstract This article introduces a new social scientific understanding of the relationship between households and finance. We call it financial oikonomization. Financial oikonomization signals specific research problem distinctive analytical approach to this problem. The is how are financially administered governed. pragmatist descriptive. It oriented how, study problems practices those directly involved with administrating governing households’ flows. On basis an extensive review recent research, we distinguish seven operations oikonomization, distinct problems—with their own practices, sites techniques, but all administration government households. these operations: budgeting, juggling, evaluating, attaching, educating, publicizing infrastructuring.
